Little Milou and Genny Perez, The Story of a Dog and a Fussy Clothing Shopper… Genny’s dream started when she acquired her first precious little friend Milou, a Teacup Poodle. His expressive eyes and childlike face immediately made Genny realize that she wanted to buy a comfortable statement for her loving angel. Not finding anything to her satisfaction, she decided to create special clothing herself for him and the creative artist within her emerged giving birth to an extraordinary Dog Apparel Designer. After two years of work and research, perfection was achieved. Her designs are constructed of the finest materials with precision and details, for the ultimate comfort and convenience for both herself and her Poodle. High tech flexible lighted displays adorn some pieces with elegant, mesmerizing, and sophisticated taste causing even the most conservative viewer to stare at them like a deer’s gaze caught in headlights. Her story is the making of an American Dream…. Milou Couture’s designer, Genny Perez, was requested to dress a celebrity Jack Russell Terrier named Chispita, on the Latin community TV Show, “Despierta America” on the Univision network. Genny’s soft spoken manner, her keen sense of design, and her love for dogs caught the people’s attention at Univision. Once they saw examples of her creativity, they fell in love with them and after 1 ½ years later having Chispita wearing Milou Couture on TV every day, Genny’s five year contract to exclusively design clothing for the celebrity canine has begun to draw attention to her exquisite taste in designing Dog Couture. Her most important goal is to make designs that inspire Peace and Love by mixing organic and fashionable products; Swarovski crystals with princess like silk; thin/breathable linen with brilliant colors emphasizing a “Latin Flair”; cotton comfort using 1910 to 1940 vintage elegant laces and detailing glamour with perfectly formed shapes. All of Genny’s creations are “Made in the USA” (with a deep and undying love for the canines who may wear them). Genny’s passion for dogs and clothing design led to her expanding her talent to childrens couture and was invited to participate in an exclusive “people” couture runway show with her line of high-tech matching apparel for “kids and canines” entitled, “Friends in Fashion”. That took her to an entirely new level leading to several encounters with numerous well known celebrities with dogs that supported her talent, perfectionism, and her eagerness to get ahead with her dream. Her creations can be seen on her Facebook pages with photos of a few of the celebrities who have purchased her designs. She has been part of several charity events raising money for hospitals, dog shelters, as well as offering a portion of the proceeds on purchases of her “Doggie Police” jacket to the K-9 units in Florida. Her current goals are to continue using the Eco Friendly products, create a utility line for working dogs, explore new technologies and apply them creatively to her fashions as well as participate in more charitable events. It started as a simple shopping day to buy something special for a dog to wear and grew to become an irresistible passion to make dogs feel good in the apparel they wear and give people all over the world an opportunity to treat their beloved furry friends to quality comfortable clothing. |
